On May 31, 53rd Commandant of the Army War College, Major General David C. Hill, received a copy of the book "George Washington and Spain. The Legacy of the Spanish Army in the United States of America" during the traditional end-of-course gift exchange with international fellow students. Lieutenant Colonel Jesus Alonso Blanco, a graduate of the 2022 course, presented the book as a token of appreciation for his year at the College.
The United States Army War College (USAWC), located on the historical base of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, is the Army's most prestigious educational institution. It provides graduate-level education to senior officers of the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, and Space Force, as well as civilians from different agencies such as the Department of Defense, Department of State, NSA, CIA, Coast Guard, or other intelligence, management, and acquisition, preparing them for senior leadership assignments and high responsibility. Approximately 300 US colonels and lieutenant colonels selected by their organizations and officers from more than 80 countries participate each year as resident students on campus until they graduate and obtain a Master's degree in Strategic Studies. An intensive program based on leadership, strategy, international politics, joint operation, research, and organization management will provide future leaders and advisors with the ability to think critically and solve complex problems while applying ground power.
Last April 6th, in Washington DC, The President and CEO of the George and Carol Olmsted Foundation (“The Olmsted Foundation”), MG Bruce K. Scott, USA (Ret.), and the President & Founder of El Legado Español en los Estados Unidos de América (“The Legacy”), Ms. Eva Garcia signed the agreement in the Army/Navy Officers Club of Washington DC on Farragut Square. At the ceremony was the Honorary member to The Legacy Admiral James G. Foggo
